Deaconsbank Course History
19 January 1921
David Adams, a golf expert, was commissioned to proceed with the laying out of the 18-hole golf course and former farm steading buildings. It was agreed that the opening date for the new golf course would be Friday 25 August 1922.
25 August 1922
Councillor McNab called upon Lord Provost Paxton to perform the opening ceremony. The Lord Provost was presented with a gift of silver salt, pepper and mustard vessels.
26 August 1922
Following the official opening ceremony, the golf course opened to the public for the first time.

The Shaws Bar Golf Club came into existence in 2011, founded by four passionate golfers who shared a vision of creating a community-focused golf club centred around the Shaws Bar.

The Spirit of the Club
The club exists to ensure a community spirit thrives within the Shaws Bar, which serves as our official clubhouse. All members are encouraged to take part in club events hosted in the pub and join fellow members on Saturday afternoons after their round of golf.
