Course Local Rules

  1. All players must report to the starter before starting play.
  2. Out of Bounds Out of bounds is defined by white stakes, boundary fences, walls or Tree Line marked with white Paint. A ball is considered out of bounds when it lies beyond these markers. Additionally, the practice area behind the 18th hole is also out of bounds.

  3. Penalty Areas Penalty areas are marked by red or yellow stakes. Players may take relief under Rule 17 with a one-stroke penalty. However, there is an exception for the drainage ditch at hole 5, where a free drop is allowed if the ball lies between the yellow markers. Furthermore, the drainage ditches which are located between the 8th green and the 10th green & to the right side of the 12th hole before the 2nd green, and near the tee of the 3rd hole, should also be considered a free drop if the ball is in the ditch and can be located.

  4. Ground Under Repair  Areas marked with white lines or signs indicating Ground Under Repair (GUR) are considered ground under repair. Players must take free relief under Rule 16.1. This applies to all areas under repair, including any materials left on the course by the green staff. If any extremely worn patches of earth should be marked as GUR, this can be agreed upon by fellow competitors.

  5. Paths Across Burns Players may take relief from all paths, but not from the bridge itself, as the ball is deemed to be in a hazard when on the bridge.

  6. Slow Play Players must maintain their pace with the group in front or allow the group behind them to play through.

During a medal or competition, if groups merge or change, the Committee has pre-approved that players can join the group behind if they find themselves alone because members of their group are unable to complete the round. Additionally, two-player groups may merge only if it helps maintain the pace of play.

Waving Players On Players should wave on following groups at the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 12th holes to help maintain the pace of play.

Mats Players may take relief from all mats on the golf course, except when on a bridge.

Drop Zones Players may take relief from the ditch behind the 16th tee and must drop within two club lengths from the marked tree toward the 17th fairway.

Penalty for Breach of Local Rule In match play, the penalty is the loss of hole; in stroke play, the penalty is two strokes.

Course Etiquette

Being a family-focused golf course, David Lloyd operates a contemporary and forward-thinking dress and course conduct policy in line with modern-day golf clubs.
